Who We Are
Child Find is the oldest, largest and most comprehensive missing children’s agency in Canada. And thanks to our staff, volunteers, generous supporters and the collaborative work of police, media and communities, we’ve helped to recover over 90% of the missing children we search for every year. While we are thankful to all of our caring partners, it is our volunteers who are the heart and soul of our organization. We have hundreds of volunteers spreading our message of safety in communities across Ontario. Our volunteers conduct street-proofing workshops and public speaking sessions. They run KidCheck Safety ID Programs; visit local schools and community groups and answer the tip line. And they do it all because they want to make a difference. Do you?

How You Can Help
As a Child Find volunteer you’ll be matched to a position that meets your needs and interests in the Child Find Community Link closest to your home. Just some of our available positions include:

• Fingerprinting children at “KidCheck” events
• Photographing children at “KidCheck” events
• Promoting community awareness
  
• Public speaking
  
• Street-proofing
  
• Taking part in special events or programs: Green Ribbon of Hope Campaign, National Missing Children’s Day, the Get Home Safe Program, etc.

What Volunteering Can Do For You
As a Child Find volunteer you'll:

• Receive valuable training in such things as fingerprinting, public speaking, and street-proofing.
• Meet new and exciting people, have a chance to travel locally, build new skills, gain work experience, influence others and make a positive contribution to the community that you are living in.
• Play an important role in helping us keep kids safe through our educational programs.
• Work with other dedicated Child Find volunteers who share the same goals as you.
• Get the opportunity to earn community service hours for school, gain references and develop job-related skills.
• Be recognized for the effort you contribute as a member of the Child Find Team.

To Join Our Volunteer Team

• Complete the Volunteer Application and return to Child Find Ontario Provincial Head Office (address below).
• Obtain your criminal reference check (CRC) and submit with your application. All potential volunteers are required to obtain a CRC.
• We’ll contact you to set up an interview and to arrange an orientation session and then connect you to your closest Community Link.
