“Tori” Stafford
On April 8, 2009 Victoria,
“Tori” Stafford was abducted from Woodstock,
Ontario. After an exhaustive search by police and
a concerned community, her death was confirmed on
July 21, 2009. Her story has touched many; not just
in her local community where support is understandably
strong, but across the province—indeed across
the country.
In an effort to make a positive change from a situation
so negative, Tori’s father Rodney Stafford is
biking from Woodstock to Edmonton, Alberta during
the month of August.
“Kilometers for Kids” is the Stafford
family’s way of bringing the importance of children’s
safety to the forefront of the public eye. Child Find
Ontario is honoured to be the designated recipient
of all funds raised as a result of this and other
special events held in Tori’s name. Now in its
25th year, and having helped thousands of families
during its inception, Child Find Ontario is recognized
as a leader in the issue of missing, abducted and
exploited children. The Stafford family recognizes
that by supporting Child Find Ontario and its programs
and services, they will be able to help many more
searching families through what are often their darkest
hours. This will be Tori’s legacy.
